HAT
good are your Baptismal Promises if you don’t recognize the works of Satan and, instead of
renouncing them, eagerly consume them?
Christ
was born over 2000 years ago to free “captive Israel” from the the works of Satan and the
darkness of evil and sin. Thus, every moment thereafter we should receive with reverent gratitude
this opening of a path to freedom from the dominion of Satan, and we can’t do this unless
we understand sin in all its psychological and social manifestations—even in the Church
hierarchy—and pray for deliverance from it.
Therefore, let’s be real, let’s be simple, let’s
come back to where we need to be. A holy life is not a matter of
standards that only a few persons can attain. A holy life is a
matter of waking up from a spiritul stupor and realizing
that because of our ingratitude and complacency we have been allowing demons to consume us in
their attempts to defile God’s love. A holy life is for everyone who is brokenhearted by the
damage our sin inflicts on us and on the world around us. A holy life is available to
everyone who seeks it from the heart and cries out for
God’s mercy.
This is the only Daily Reflection needed for today,
tomorrow, and every day thereafter:
ord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy
on me.
