 ehold the Holy Face of Jesus
as He once was desecrated with blood, sweat, spittle, and mud. Behold also all the grievous
offenses committed against Him today: His holy Name customarily blasphemed, His holy
Sacrifice scorned with disbelief, the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar profaned by
irreverence and immodesty, Sundays and the other Holy Days of Obligation ignored in apathy,
and His holy commandments rejected by pride.
In reparation for the callous ingratitude, negligence,
and contempt that disparages our Savior’s great love, I am resolved that I will never fall into
ignorance or apathy about the meaning and practices of the
True Faith. I am resolved to revere the Holy Face of Jesus, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Holy
Name of Jesus, and the Holy Eucharist. And I am resolved to take up the Cross with confidence and
to live a reverent lifestyle of chastity, modesty,
and humility; to do serious penance for my
sins; and to practice constant heartfelt prayer for the salvation of souls, for guidance
in my mission of service to God, for courage to face the reality of evil,
for strength to fight against evil with love for God, and for perseverance to endure
patiently any opposition that may afflict me. Amen
Arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered.
And let all that hate You flee from before Your face.
